HEEELLP!!
Had my Cayman S for a year now, when cold its had an annoying engine rattle around 2/3000 RPM but now its doing it all the time and Porsche Sheffield say thats normal and wont do a thing with it!!
How can it be normal when it sounds horid and its only just started doing it all the time??
Anyone else in the same boat?
They say its the oil pressure valve
Thanks

Dan:
Several points: 1. You're probably right - it doesn't sound like somthing that is "normal" - I'd try to get a second opinion at another service dept. if possible. 2. There are a lot of things in the rear compartment that can cause rattles and vibrations to sound like they are eminating from the engine, because you are hitting their reverberation frequency at certain revs. So it may, or may not be coming from the engine itself. 3. If you do a Search on the forums you will find a lot of posts and threads on this topic, with suggestions for things you might want to check for yourself, like loose bolts, covers, etc. 4. To get more response and advice, you might want to post this question on the Forums under the Complaints forum or maybe the GB forum if you need help finding a more accomodating service dept. Unfortunately, only a few of us hard core bloggers visit this area of Cayman Club with regularity. Good luck . . . ![]() |

hi there coco - try posting this question in the Cayman Complaints forum - you'll get a good response there. this is the blog section where we may relay our upgrade sagas or experiences with Porsche ownership, etc. - not really a good place for questions.
you may also find the answer by searching the forums for points related to your question. g-luck! *elise |
