This will be my attempt to keep a blog on my experiences with my first ever Porsche - a Cayman S. I've dreamed of owning a Porsche, like many of you I am sure, for many years and now is my chance!
I hope to start off with a blog on my delivery experience, describing picking up my car (after a 4 month wait) in New Jersey and bringing it home to North Carolina.
After that, we'll see where the road leads me!
Mike

I stopped by our local grocery store (a Food Lion) this afternoon to pick up a few items and upon returning to the car found what appeared to be an entire cup of coffee poured across the hatch.
The stream started just below the glass on the right side and went down and to the left to the spoiler. From there it appears the person poured the remaining coffee along the spoiler, as the entire lenght of the wing was full of coffee.
It certainly could have been a lot worse - the car wasn't dented or keyed - but what the heck did I do???

You didn't do anything wrong . . .Jealousy, class envy, xenophobia, pure spite . . . who knows? Unfortunately, I think a lot of people believe that all Porsche owners are arrogant, rich snobs (which of course we know isn't true) - and probably don't know the $$$ difference between a Cayman and a GT2.
Such vandalism isn't limited to "expensive" German sports cars however - when I had my WRX, it was keyed twice and spit on in parking lots - and that was just a $25K Subaru! Some people are just a$$holes, and unfortunately, our society no longer seems to teach/enforce respect for others' property. ![]() |

ack, that sucks. luckily coffee has lots of oil and stuff in it, which i do not think would hurt much of anything - a can of Coke would have been much worse.
why waste a good cup o'joe? |

Of course, you could have gotten rear ended in traffic by a monster pickup, and then he jumps across the grass median and heads in the opposite direction (happened to my BMW).
Some people are morons, unfortunately their behavior is encouraged by so many in society today. ![]() |

Bummer...I don't get people who abuse cars. I wouldn't pour coffee on an old Chevy Nova, yet my Audi Avant got dinged at the grocery store one week after I got it. I park the Cayman REALLY far away!

The Cayman is beautiful so people who can’t afford it hates you. Too bad those bastards don’t work harder to be able to get one.

For the record, that envious view and desire to destroy or damage something belonging to someone else is called "Covetousness."
If I can't have it, then I'll hurt you so you can't have it. Ed |

It's just hard to figure folks. Times are hard for many, and I guess that tends to bring out meaness.
For me peronsally, I try to keep a couple of rules in mind as I go through life; among them: Never begrudge someone what they have and, Never mess with another persons' livelyhood. (The second doesn't necessarily apply to this situation - or to criminals - but I hope you see what I'm saying!) ![]() |

I hate that. Sorry to hear that that spoiled your day or at least a part of it. It's due to all of the things you know, jealousy, envy being a sh!thead. They prob didn't pour the epensive cup of jo out, more likely they poured out what they had in their travel mug. It makes no difference. Just a low life sh1thead who isn't worth the aggravation.
Sorry mike. |

I was wondering why you came all the way to NJ from NC to buy your car? I am in PA and was considering buying a Cayman from a Porsche dealer called Foreign Cars Italia, in Greensboro NC. Is there something I should know about buying in NC? Thanks

Thanks for your email Speedymike, I am too new to the site to be allowed to respond directly to you. I'll let you know if I end up buying in Greensboro
