torn about the application

Posted 10-03-2007 at 08:05 PM by grrlsix
two days and i have not driven the Cayman with the new SSK yet.

my knee still makes me hesitant about such things - i wish it would up and heal already. i am tired of restriction. the husband graciously took us around for a sweet test spin (you would think taking someone for a "spin" in a car would not be the most positive of things?) so everything works bliss. i am a little grrl waiting to be tall enough to ride the loop-de-loop, a falcon lashed to the perch, a sleeper....

SSK final installation and test drive

Posted 10-02-2007 at 05:06 AM by grrlsix
there is something disheartening about being so close to the finish of a project and realizing the very last step before re-installation is just something i was not able to do. now that the shifter and link are together it is all glory, but last night...

after a quick trip to a Porsche mechanic on the way to work, i was in possession of an assembled shift/link exchange. i admit i took the linkage in to work - partially to work it a bit in-between cataloguing, and partially to show...

B&M Short Shift Kit / EVO Link aka PITA

Posted 10-01-2007 at 03:42 AM by grrlsix
ok - so not that i expected it to be cake, or even jello (wiggly!), but installing the Short Shifter Kit/Link is a bizzatch.

biggest issue: removing that trim and console. holy ****. plastic prying tools essential, next time. although using an old credit card seemed to do the trick. *grumble* once the console is up it is just unscrew this and detach that cable, etc. we were actually able to get the boot and shift knob off, so no worries there.

she is sitting outside...

Posted 09-30-2007 at 03:44 AM by grrlsix
having two cars and a healing knee are most times not a good combination for the Porsche downstairs in the garage. also puppies, puppies are a good reason not to drive the Porsche - and puppy vomit. yes. and the lingering chance that there may be puppy poo.

needless to say i drove the Saab (o'puppies) to the mobile rescue this morning, and also to the PirateBar last night for a friend's B-Day. i want to park the Cayman on the street downtown in the Mission at night, but i just...

the beginning of ...the wha?

two weeks ago the husband and i had cable installed for the first time. cable - hundreds of channels of commercials and connections to places, hobbies and hurtles that rarely resemble reality...

i think my interface is defunct as instead of cable, my laptop requires most of my attention - and always in the background is this, the Cayman Club site.

my husband and i fell for her at very first sight. sure we drove a Z4, and looked at the new Audi TT (wha? outside...
