Well, The good news is I have my car and its driveable.

The bad news is the crate motor is probably going to have to go back for another one... Scott's been really busy these last 3 weeks so he wasn't able to get the modified X51 ECU program to Stephen until late afternoon on FRIDAY (with me waiting to pick the car up) so they couldn't do full diagnostics on the engine until right at the wire. Turns out the motor is throwing a code related to the Variocam system and if the issue...

Arrrgh.... Got an update from iA late in the evening. Things are going well with the swap but Stephen ran into a few snags with swapping some of the plumbing around that caused him a delay since he had to order some parts that weren't available here in the US and subsequently had to be flown in from Germany. This being the first swap they've done I'm sure all the 'lessons learned' will mean any future conversions they do will go a bit quicker since they'll know the routine and also all the bits...

Nothing new to report.

I have faith that progress is being made, Kens mid week pictures helped confirm that, but I didn't get an update from iA at COB friday. Actually, no real updates all week and only a few days left till the target completion date...

Its REALLY hard to be patient and not pester Stephen but I also know that the work will get done as fast as they can manage it and my pesting won't make it go any faster. Of course as the (admitedly nit picky)...

Ken dropped by iA yesterday and took some more pictures that he uploaded to my photo gallery so now I have some material to blog!

*** WARNING !!! Some of these images are graphic in nature and not for the faint of heart... *** (LOL!) a complete motor swap is MAJOR surgery and seeing your pride and joy in such a state is actually a bit disturbing... I'm just going to focus on what it will be like once its finished! Whew! OK, better now.
