What now? 2008 Here we come!

Posted 01-18-2008 at 04:33 PM by K-Man S
Ok so I've had a few people here ask me if I am through modifying my Cayman. I hadn't really thought about it, or thought if there was ever actually an "end" to modifying something but the truth is that there probably isn't a lot more I would do to the car. So with that in mind, let's make up a list of items that are candidates for 2008 changes:

1) New Wheels: 3 of my 4 wheels are bent from the accident so I KNOW that I am replacing them, same look, but better quality, stay tuned for the article on that one coming in the next week or two.

2) Tooki Bluetooth kit: I don't really use Bluetooth that much, but maybe I would if it were better integrated into the car. I volunteered to give this a try with Eric from Bumperplugs (www.bumperplugs.com)

3) Interior parts with speed yellow stitching. Still trying to figure out if I can economically do this or not.

4) Inserts for my GT3 seats, just waiting on quote back from our sponsor Motordrive on that project.

5) Clear engine cover - one of these days a suitable solution will be made, hoping that one of our new sponsors (ALTA) will be able to manufacture something in this regard.

6) Sway bars - Not sure if I am going to do this or not, my plan is to get some pros on the track with my car over a long weekend and experiment with different settings, bars, etc. and arrive at something better than what I have now if possible.

7) I need another harness for the passenger side.

8) I need a new helmet and of course a custom paint job on it!

9) I'll probably play with some additional ECU tuning at some point.

Well that's what I can think of off the top of my head, well some other things might be fun to play with like forced air induction or carbon fiber doors, etc. but I want to keep my car still as a comfortable street car as well so I can't go toooo overboard.

If you have any suggestions for me please add them here as s comment/reply to this blog entry!

Ever considered a Carbon Fibre rear trunk hatch with a Perspex screen to save a lump of "bad" weight..?
Did you never get the Engine cover sorted, I now have a possible contact, would you like me to explore further.?
Shoot me a photo of your particular GT3 seats and I'll see if they match a pair of Recaro GT3 Seats I have in the workshop here, if so I can copy cushion sizes and make in Yellow with CaymanClub Embroidery in Black.....?
