A Mini-Makeover
I haven't been keen to modify the appearance of my Cayman with things like aero kits, wings, decals, etc. but when you hang out on C.C. for any period of time, you start to get caught up in the mod fever. So, I decided I would make a couple of subtle changes to make my CS look a little different from all the other Seal Gray Caymans out there.
I like the look of black foglight spears on other cars, because it somehow makes it look a bit more aggressive (maybe because it makes the intakes look larger?). I also like the look of contrasting (black) side vents - so, that's what I decided to do.
I ordered a set of unfinished side grills to send to Bumperplugs to be painted black, since I wanted to keep my originals in case I decided to change back to the original color. I also finally got around to removing the front license plate holder, and putting some Bumperplugs in its place.
I tried to follow the directions in the Articles section, for removal of the side vents, but I neglected to follow one important step --> warming them up first. I managed to get the right side out okay by taking my time, but I rushed the other one and ended up breaking-off the lower clip.

Good thing I bought the other set.
Changing the foglight spears was pretty easy (just followed the directions in the Owner's manual). The change is subtle, depending on the light and angle of view, but I like it.

Not much of a makeover, more like the automotive equivalent of a little eyeliner and mascara.

i do like those black spears - ! also, the bumperplugs... way less noticeable/intrusive than i had assumed they would be. neat! (and way better looking than plate holder.)
