First AX of the season

We had our first local SCCA Solo event of the season this past week-end. I decided to enter even though I am planning to concentrate more on DE/track events than AX this year.

But, I was suffering from cabin fever, and felt the need to get frisky in my CS. Since it was actually a pre-season warm-up (i.e. not for points), and the weather forecast was for bad to lousy weather, I decided to run stock and didn't even bother to change from my winter Alpins.

Okay, so those aren't really performance mods, though at least the subwoofer mod did improve the performance of the CDR-24.

Well, I'm kind of new to this whole blogging thing, so we'll just have to see how it goes. I guess there might be some benefit to keeping a log or diary of my Cayman experiences, though I'm not sure it will be of any particular benefit or interest to anyone else.

Trailering: A Cautionary Tale

I decided last fall that if I'm going to be taking my CS to the track at least once a month it probably would be worthwhile buying (as opposed to renting) a trailer to haul it.

At my last DE at Hallett, I met a guy from Oklahoma City named Bryan, who was looking to sell the Jim-Glo Tilt Bed trailer he used to haul his Mustang. My wife and I had both been admiring it, and I thought if the price was right, I would get it. He offered it at what I thought was a pretty fair price considering
