Waiting in Watkins Glen

Posted 10-29-2007 at 02:08 AM by PistolPete13
9PM sitting in a hotel in Corning, NY. Got a 5AM wakeup call tomorrow in order to head to the track for the first of two days.

Staying at a Days Inn. Nice, clean, comfy and they have speedy free wireless this year!

Still a bit nervous about tomorrow. It's been over a year and a half since I've been on a track, way too long. This is also a new car for me. I wonder how a rear drive car will feel vs. the Audi Quattro I had all these years.

Weather is nice and cold, predicted to be 31 degrees tonight. Gotta be careful with the tires tomorrow, I wonder if they'll ever really warm up in these temperatures.

driving the Cayman is way heavier in its steering than the quattros (i love them!) i think those tires will warm right up with a little friction -

have fun!
