This will be my attempt to keep a blog on my experiences with my first ever Porsche - a Cayman S. I've dreamed of owning a Porsche, like many of you I am sure, for many years and now is my chance!
I hope to start off with a blog on my delivery experience, describing picking up my car (after a 4 month wait) in New Jersey and bringing it home to North Carolina.
After that, we'll see where the road leads me!

Porsche Parade
Well, I'm back from Parade and I've got to say it was fantastic! It was even more fun than I thought it would be. The thing is, from a blogging perspective, the weekend was busier than I anticipated - and so was my return to work - so I didn't get to post running updates on our time at the Parade. Sorry about that...
I am also a bit sorry we could only attend for the weekend, but I've got to say meeting a number of CC folks including our very own K-Man S (and lots of other Porsche owners as well) was a great experience. We're hooked - we're seriously considering driving out to Colorado for Parade next year, and my wife is pretty sure she wants a 911 now! I'm not sure how we're going to swing that last bit though...
Some of the highlights of our brief time at Parade included the Concours (it was amazing to see that many sparkling Porsches in one place!), checking out the latest Cayman clear engine cover prototype (pretty cool, I've got to say), and hearing K-Man S's exhaust being demonstrated at least two blocks away. Wow - what a great sound!
Thanks to K-Man S, beez, and others for the hospitality and the stories. I've posted some of my pictures, but I'll include a few here as well. Be sure to check out the bumblebee attacking Ken's car, a.k.a "The Bumblebee"!
Oh yeah - I'd be remiss if I didn't do my part as ordered by Ken and encourage everyone who can to sign up for Croctoberfest this Fall! If the Parade was any indication of how these events go, it's going to be lots of fun!

Okay - so is there an actual parade of all the Porsches in attendance? Any good swag? Inquiring minds want to know (especially since I will be much closer to next year's Parade).

There is not an actual parade, but the concours on Sunday had an entire downtown street lined on both sides with shiny Porsches of all descriptions being judged. The cross streets to the main drag were lined with cars from folks like me who were just in attendance. My guess is there were at least 500 Porsches parked in a couple of blocks of the city. Very cool!
You do get some nice swag, which included a very nice backpack stuffed with goodies, lots of food and drink, access to official Porsche folks and memorablia, and many hand-outs. (I got a cool "Porschestrasse" road sign, for instance, I'll be hanging in the garage.) |

Very nice! If I only had the time! The body colored roof box looked great on that macadamia car.
