8 Month owner review

This is just one cool as F**K car.

I have never been so happy at spending such a large amount of money.

This is my only car and a daily driver to work and back.

Now it 3 miles to work and I work the normal weekdays only, yet I am averaging 1000 miles a month

Any excuse I get I go out for a drive. I also make trips back to Cornwall to see my father every other month which is 175 miles one way.

The only issue that has appeared was the cylinder recall and my car had the fix but never showed any signs of a problem. In fact due to the info on this site, I contacted the dealership and was ahead of their schedule for even getting the parts into the UK. It was booked and done before the official letter from Porsche HQ arrived

I love the ride the 19" Sport Design wheels with PASM give me.

If I am feeling showy, I leave the spoiler up when driving.

I am still an honorary member of the local S2000 club for monthly meets and they are always pleased to see the car. i have also been to two Cayman meets organised through the forum here

Booked the car in next week for its 7 hour detailing by an S2000 club member who has all the kit and does an brilliant job detailing the car.

PASM - Porsche Active Suspension Management

This active damping system offers continuous adjustment of individual damping forces based on current road conditions and driving style.

The driver can choose from two setup modes, ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’, using a separate ‘damper’ button on the center console. ‘Normal’ mode is designed for general road driving and circuits with uneven tarmac. ‘Sport’ mode is intended for smoother track surfaces, where the harder settings help eliminate pitch and roll.

In either mode, PASM continuously evaluates the current conditions while automatically selecting the corresponding damper rates from the respective set of mapped values.

A range of sensors are used to monitor the movement of the body under acceleration, braking and cornering maneuvers, as well as on poor road surfaces. The PASM control unit then evaluates this data and modifies the damping force on each individual wheel in accordance with the selected mode. The result is a significant reduction in body movement as well as a better grip on the road.

For example: if ‘Sport’ mode is selected, the suspension is automatically set to a harder damper rating. If the quality of the track surface falls below a certain threshold, the system immediately changes to a softer rating within the ‘Sport’ setup range. When the quality of the tarmac improves once more, PASM automatically returns to the original, harder rating.
