Question Get Water Fixed Before Zaino?

I have a problem with water spots. My water is from a well in CT. Distilled water from Wal mart is somewhat helpful.

Question......

Should I get my water problem under control BEFORE the Zaino treatment. I don't want to waste $ and time if my water is not up to the job.

You folks loved Zaino. I have never used the product. I plan to order the "show car kit" ($84) to do it right! I think this will have the products needed to do job right.

The recent post by Croc and others is putting me to shame.

I honestly don't know how to answer.

After you wash the car with Z7, dry it with a leaf blower. That will remove most of the water, AND get it out of the tight areas (rear view mirrors, tail lights, etc). Then go over the car with a white all cotton towel. It would seem that if you do this quickly enough, you would not have water spots.

We have really hard water here in Houston and using the above method, I don't get them. You damnYankees might have wierd water, (which would explain a few things). Is it sulfur water?

Hope this helps and I'm just not sharing my ignorance. Zaino is wonderful stuff. I've got one coat on and am planning the next one for next weekend.

BE SURE TO CLAYBAR!

Ole Joe

Hi, 1st to answer your question, do take care of the waterspots. We also have hard water in Hawaii. Where I live, if I use the faucet water in the windshield washer. I would have waterspots everywhere, and they are tough to come off. So when I wash the car, I use the Mr. Clean wash gun. I'm guessing the filter softens up the water, so I never have had any waterspot problems.
See if that helps ya.
Good luck

To avoid water spots, wash the car in the shade so you have a cool paint surface and dry it as soon as possible.

If you have water spots etched into the paint, try the Zaino ZPC or a clay bar to clean the paint because Z2 or Z5 contain no abrasives to remove them.

My problem is sun showers. There will be a quick short rain and the drops will evaporate really fast on the hot paint. At least with a fresh Zaino coat you get nice round water spots and they are easy to get off with the next wash.

I know a guy that pours over his cars a bucket of water with a capful of water softener as a final step. It works like and probably better than the Mr. Clean process and he says he never has to dry wipe them.
