Question clear bra

Does any body with a 3m clear bra have what I call orange peel look to it? The installer told me even with all the stretching you will still get a few wrinkles, its a protective film. I'm not sure I liked his answer. Had them replace the film on the mirrors and it came out looking better..

Getting a good clear bra installation is all dependent upon the installer, not the material (as long as its quality material). I have 8 mil ... not 3 mil and there are no wrinkles whatsoever. It wasn't cheap but the installer knew his business ... it was his only business and he did it for a lot of the local Porsche and BMW dealerships.

Might I suggest that you look through this thread...

Expectations of Clear Bra - Double edged sword

It really helps illustrate the trade off between the protection you get from a clear bra and its appearance.

For what's worth, I have a clearbra on my CS and it took the installer twice to get it right. The difference is in the installer. You MUST find a good one.

Quality of installation is the most important to creating a "clear" application. In addition, we do need to note that members here should avoid the ebay stuff that is selling for $10-$90 for a full kit. It is not true paint protection film although claims are made that it is. We have seen these products up front and it is merely a clear vinyl that does not offer much protective capabilities; and will fade in a rather short amount of time.
