After purchasing my Cayman last week, I noticed that there is a lot of grime behind the 3rd brake light on the glass. Does anyone know of a way to clean behind it?
Thanks,
-Justyn

I was watching this thread to see if anyone was going to highlight the removal process to get to the third light...
I have the "droopy foam in the third tail light" syndrome that I've seen others mention here several months ago. Its the _only_ thing that's gone wrong in the 6 months that I've had the Cayman (I'm really happy about that).
Frankly I don't trust a dealer to not make it worse (or mess something up with the hatch latch or something else) so I've been holding out taking it in.
Has anyone successfully fixed this issue themselves?

Yancy, I'm in the same boat as you. My service mgr said he's seen a few like that, and that it would take about an hour to take care of it. Please let me know if you get it fixed - I'll do the same.

After my tiniting job, some kind of liquid (I suspect soapy water or alcohol) left drip marks (simular to a wine's "legs") in this area.
Everytime I wash my car this frustrates me. I too would like to know how to get in there. I dont think a simple credit card will work for me.
Darn sloppy tint installers!!!!!!!!!!!

I got mine fixed today. It took about an hour and a half. They cleaned the glass before they put everything back together. (And they fixed the "clunk".)
the last time i took my car into mckenna porsche to get a faulty headlight sensor taken care of, and when i was there i asked them to teach me how to open up to clean the third brake light and they said they had couldn't do that, but however, they can charge me an obscene amount of money to detail my car and clean the third brake light for me. i said to hell with that. i will try the compressed air idea mentioned here.

When I picked up my car at delivery, I noticed the "droopy foam" and the dealer fixed it in less than a half hour.....
