Wax

What would you recommend for a long lasting wax that both protects and shines? How would you rate Meguiars Nxt Generation wax?

Are you looking specifically at just a wax, or will you also consider polymer sealants like Zaino?

RHT: There have to be a thousand posts on this topic, with at least a hundred recommendations. Search around; you'll be dazzled.

RHT987S - Start with the threads that appear at the bottom of this page under "similar threads." And, I'm sure you'll have plenty of people chiming in here, too. This is something that has been beaten like a rented mule over the last year... I've tried them all over the years, and have settled on P21S products... very premium stuff, quite reasonably priced, and unreal results.

I just applied NXT to my daily driver after claying it. It went on easily and fast. It rained today and beaded well, but the real test will be what it is behaving like 3 months from now. I use Zaino (ran out after I did my wife's car) on the Cayman with no complaints. I apply 3 coats in the Spring and it lasts beautifully all year (7500 dry road miles).

i must be the minority here (seems like everybody else has a lot more free time than i do )but i dont want to spend my whole day off waxing my car . i use Eagle 1 wax as u dry . you wash the car , apply it while the car is still wet , and wipe it off with a towel . it works very well for me .

If you want a "long lasting wax" try Malms. If you want a premium wax, ps21, Pinnacle Sourveign, Glasur will all do.

If you want it really long lasting, your going to have to go synthetic .... zaino, Klasse Twins (and some others)

After reading several threads, it seems like zaino z-2 works better than wax. My only concern is it will make fine scratches more visible. Thanks for the input guys. BTW, my car is guards red.

That's what Z-5 is for. A layer of Z-5 followed by Z-2 will do an excellent job.

RHT987S, I have a garage full of different waxes from over the years and I highly recommend the Zaino treatment. If you have a dark colored car, you will really see the amazing results!

The longest lasting wax, sealant or polish is going to be a synthetic polymer because it will not break down as easy as a Carnauba wax. If you live in a climate that is hotter or higher elivation, the sun will burn through any Carnauba wax faster than normal. A polymer will last much longer in sunny climates.

Zaino Bros system is the best but...

If you just want to buy a wax at the store, NXT wax which you already mentioned is by far the best, since it has come out, all the other brands have released new tech wax products to try to compete. NXT is really amazing. If you go to a car show on setup night I think you will see a lot of people using it.
