This information is mostly for those leaving in Florida, but others may benefit from it also. In Florida we have Love bugs. We get swarms of them. When you drive through one of these swarms, the bugs stick to your car. If that wasn't bad enough, these little bugs have some kind of acid that destrois your paint. Any way, these bugs are very difficult to remove from the finish. Well, a friend just told me of a way that makes it very easy to remove the bugs.
Use a dryer sheet. You know, a softner sheet as used in the dryer when doing the laundry. All you do is wet the car, wet the dryer sheet, and let it sit on the surface on top of the bugs. After one minute the bugs just come of like magic. If you need to rub a bit, make sure to keep the surface wet.
Its so easy I can't believe it. I hope that I haven't bored you with something that has been previously posted.
Daytona That is a good tip. I do almost the same thing I put Liqud softner on a microfiber and let it sit. If you read this today before noon am I wasting my time cuming your way to watch the cup race? Radar does not look good
Escort Radar
At ESCORT, we're continually improving our line of radar and laser detectors with the best technology. Our latest invention, the GPS-powered PASSPORT 9500ix, is no exception. It provides the best long-range protection against every known radar and laser gun in use in North America, but also incorporates GPS accuracy to silence each and every false alert. It is by far the most intelligent, fully automatic radar and laser detector ever designed. You drive. It learns. End of story. http://www.escortradar.com
Out here in the East Texas boonies, we have them as well. May and
September are good months to leave the nice car in the garage.
In any event, I use Rejex. Even on the clear bra. Their tag line
is, "So slick, bugs don't stick."
And it's true. Just wet the car down, get everthing ready, and then
hit'em with a hard stream of water and that takes off nearly all
of them. A microfiber mitt and car shampoo takes off the little
bit left.
It works for me.
Great tip, though!
Best,
- Mark

FLORIDA CAYMAN,
Sorry but I did not see your post till now. I hope you came for the race. I live 5 miles north of the Speedway and seems like a nice night for a race. A bit humid however.
