Wash Love bugs away easily.

This information is mostly for those leaving in Florida, but others may benefit from it also. In Florida we have Love bugs. We get swarms of them. When you drive through one of these swarms, the bugs stick to your car. If that wasn't bad enough, these little bugs have some kind of acid that destrois your paint. Any way, these bugs are very difficult to remove from the finish. Well, a friend just told me of a way that makes it very easy to remove the bugs.
Use a dryer sheet. You know, a softner sheet as used in the dryer when doing the laundry. All you do is wet the car, wet the dryer sheet, and let it sit on the surface on top of the bugs. After one minute the bugs just come of like magic. If you need to rub a bit, make sure to keep the surface wet.
Its so easy I can't believe it. I hope that I haven't bored you with something that has been previously posted.

Thanks for the tip Daytona; I already have some love bug damage on my front bumper I guess it's worth it for the great weather...

This technique works like a charm. Maybe the days of pitted paint due to love bug damage are finally over for me...

Another option is Poorboys bug squash

Dilute, Spray on, watch the bugs dissolve, pressure wash off - all gone

Out here in the East Texas boonies, we have them as well. May and
September are good months to leave the nice car in the garage.

In any event, I use Rejex. Even on the clear bra. Their tag line
is, "So slick, bugs don't stick."

And it's true. Just wet the car down, get everthing ready, and then
hit'em with a hard stream of water and that takes off nearly all
of them. A microfiber mitt and car shampoo takes off the little
bit left.

It works for me.

Great tip, though!

Best,

- Mark

FLORIDA CAYMAN,
Sorry but I did not see your post till now. I hope you came for the race. I live 5 miles north of the Speedway and seems like a nice night for a race. A bit humid however.
