fine scratches and removal hints

Well after 6 months of ownership, I have yet to get a ding or scratch anywhere on my CS. That is until last week! Although I am not sure how it happened (a bit worrisome as I don't recall hitting anything) I noticed a series of fine scratches just over the rear passenger-side wheel (on the body and over the wheel well). Most are not deep enough to feel by gently running my fingernail over them. One however is a bit deeper. The scratches are approx. 1-2 cm in length spread across a 30 cm area. Any ideas as to the best way to remove the scratches? Or is this better handled by a professional? If so, any recommendations as to a body shop in the Montreal area?

Sounds like your scratches aren't too deep, they may be able to be buffed out by a reputable detailer. That is if the scratches haven't gone down to the primer. If the scratches are down to the primer you may want to try one of our sponsors:

LANGKA Paint Chip and Scratch Repair

I haven't used them myself, but it is my understanding it works well on non-metallic paint. You might do a search on paint chip repair to find some opinions on Langka.

I personally have used this:

AutoVisuals.com – The Best Automotive Paint Touch Up Using the AutoSharp Pen

I love this for small scratches. The pen makes it easy, quick and no blob mess. The best part is they make these to order because they use the paint code from the manufacturer to match the color and metallic content.

Good Luck with the repair.
