Car washing banned- I am freaking out

We are in a drought situation and car washing at home has been banned by the city. No way in h--- I am going to auto bell. I have been going to self service car washes- frequented by thugs- at great personal danger- armed to the teeth- and spraying several cycles with rinse water only. Then I am going home and wetting a large microfiber towell and drying down with loads of Griots speed shine. This is really bothering me more than I care to admit. Any ideas??

I feel your pain!
Check out some of the body shops that specialize in Porsche’s.
I have two good shops that will hand wash for about $25
Looks like it is going to be a long haul before this drought is over. What the hell is up with lawn watering but no car washing?

I've used "No Rinse Wash" No Rinse Wash & Shine during the winter before and had good results. Try it out on your other car if you don't want to experiment on the Cayman. I was a doubter but it does work. It requires a couple of gal. of water (less on smaller cars).

What do you think about Sonus Carnuba spray instead of speed shine for this scenario? I am running out of Speed shine but have some unopened Sonus. I am sacred of scatching the paint. Would you pass and order the other stuff? Many thanks- feedback really appreciated!!

Sonus is great for "light dust" just like Speed shine. Sonus helps keep the P21S looking good between waxes since it is a carnauba based spray. The No Rinse is a real wash that gets off the dirt with only a bucket or two of water. I used it on the Audi all winter when I didn't want to brave the below zero temps and bother with heating up a hose.

I see your car is Basalt Black. (from the registry) If you look hard at BB it's going to scratch/swirl.

Think this out. Find a friend that lives off the beaten path and go over there to use his hose.

Wash at 4am! Don't mess up your car.

Since others are posting "how I wash cars" threads, here is mine - Autopia Car Detailing Forum

Try autopia. This guy did my cayman with just two gallons of water...he knows what he is doing. I was amazed myself but it works.

Already done that with a flashlight. If they see a wet driveway and a clean car they write you a 100.00-2000.00 ticket. Already caught my neighbor. Dont have to catch you in the act. I may opt for the local handwash shop reccomended by another poster. thanks

Park it on your lawn and wash it. You are just watering the lawn then!
