OK, so here's an interesting observation for you. While I was in Germany I applied a coat of Zymol Glasur to my car to protect it from rain, etc... Well, after two excruciating months of waiting, I finally received my car Wednesday night. Today I washed it for the first time, and I saw something rather strange. The water didn't bead at all on my hood, roof upper doors, upper fenders, etc..... Now anyone who's ever used Zymol knows that it makes water bead like you can't believe. Well, the only areas that were beading were the sides of the doors, trunk, tail, etc... Then I sprayed a little more water and I think I figured out why.
If I flooded the car with water, I could actually see sheets of water film where it was obviously wrapped in plastic. You can actually see a line on the sides where the plastic stopped and the beading begins. I can only assume that the protective plastic took my wax off the paint with it when it was removed.
Looks like I know what I'll be doing in my next free moment. Waxing my car again. But hey, that's cool. There is something very enjoyable about waxing a Cayman.
Good observation - now you have a chance to wax it with P21S...

Once I go through the rest of my Glasur, that will indeed be the next wax I try. I've heard lots of great stuff about it, particularly from you and Santa Fe, and in my book those are recommendations you can take to the bank.
looked in the FAQ and did not see something like "the best and most awesome way to wash, wax and take care of your new Cayman's exterior and interior" -
i bought Wheel Wax and some CA dust brushes, a good hose/nozzle, speed shine, and i have the remnants of either maguires or mothers wash as well as various cotton cloths/sponge applicators/wheel cleaning brush -
what else do i need? i now have P21S on my list, but there are so many other products out there, what are the Must Haves?

What is P21S?
Never mind, answered my own dumb question
PS21 is the wax that half of the forum uses. The other half uses zymöl. (I’m in the zymöl group although I do use S100 – made by the same German company – on my motorcycles.)
Actually, it probably isn't a 50/50 split. Lots of folks also use Zaino and some uses other brands.
I use Zymol Glasur and Griot's Best of Show Wax - first Zymol and then Best of Show as it adds more depth.

I have zymöl Glasur and have used it twice. It's very good stuff! However, last week I put two coats of zymöl Vintage on my car. When the car needs a quick clean I use Griot’s Speed Shine. I've never used Best of Show. I'll have to try it.
