What do other member use to wax their brake calipers?

I am thinking about waxing the brake calipers. What wax do other use? I presumed car wax would not work due to the heat under braking. Would wheel wax work?

Tks

I just clean mine off. If I decided to wax them I would probably use Wheel Wax.

I Zaino mine every now and then. The heat issue does make me wonder if it even stays on the caliper or not, but then again dark paint gets pretty freakin' hot here on the 110 degree Texas days.

After a year and a half......my calipers look as good as new or better though....

Just kidding, I couldn't resist. I'm sure you'll get a response from folks who actually wash their car.

HAHAHAHA!!!

I can only imagine what your calipers look like after 7+months of no washing.

I have never even thought of waxing the calipers, I wouldn't think the wax could take the heat in the long term. I just wipe them off when I wash my car and I'm happy with that. I never thought to wax the calipers.

I cake them in metal polish, drive up to 75 mph and then slam on the brakes. Is that wrong?

Under NO circumstances do you put any wax, oil, or other lubricant on the things that are designed to stop you, and keep other road users / pedestrians safe from harm............................YOUR BRAKES.

Only use the correct Brake Cleaner Spray and a clean cloth on your calipers and rotors, (Which actually is a spirit de-greaser, designed to take away grease etc)

I cannot imagine how anyone would ask the question above??????????

Unless your car is only kept in the Garage as part of a collection, and will never be driven..........

Karel,

I think hawc's tongue was firmly planted-in-cheek when he posed that question.
