Hydraulic fluid leak

More than one of us on the Left Coast is experiencing a hydraulic fluid leak resulting in a steering noise and increased effort. Is this just a Californicondition?

I have heard of others with this problem. I would take it to the dealer and get it checked, Here is a link to other posts.
site:caymanclub.net power steering - Google Search

I installed the mantis underdrive pulley. If you are going to track your car often, I would install it. Running the power steering and AC a little slower will keep the system a little cooler. It also adds some hp to the car.

Also double check the fluid to make sure it's not brake fluid. If it is, your slave cylinder may be leakings. There was a bad batch of slave cylinders that is currently being corrected and replaced. Either way, you are still under warranty.

Good luck. Let us know what you find out.

welcome.
i had that, lost 3 ps pumps and 1 str rack
jeff had that, lost 2 pumps and 1 str rack
bob (his handle here) lost 4 pumps and i dont know how many racks.

you can use mantis racing pulley or call jerry woods enterprises (nor Cal) or if you in (so cal), call 911 design. they both can install electric pwr str to your cayman. parts come from 997 cup car. THAT is the BEST solution. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
