Black Magic - No scrub wheel cleaner

I have owned German cars since 1999 and I have tried every brake dust wheel cleaner ever made (or at least it seems that way). Usually I just purchase one of three brands that I feel do a decent job removing brake dust.

The last time I made a purchase all they had was "Black Magic -"New" no scrub wheel cleaner". The directions say to spray on, wash off within 30 seconds and towel dry. It sounded to good to be true. It wasn't. It actually works.

I wish I would have found it 9 years ago!

Just be careful which wheels you apply them to. A lot of them are acidic based cleaners which may damage some wheel surfaces. The poorboys spray n rinse is similar in that all you do is spray it on, let it dwell, then rinse away the brake dust. Works extremely well, but you have to be careful, like I said. You can dilute it w/ water for a safer mixture. For higher end wheels I would recommend the p21s wheel cleaner which is non-acidic and ph balanced. Might take a pass of a wash mitt to get some more built up dust off, but a much safer approach to cleaning wheels that works the same way the one you mentioned above does.
Additionally, if anyone is running the ceramic brakes, I'd suggest staying away from any wheel cleaners and be careful of tire dressings b/c the brakes can actually absorb the chemicals/silicone. I wouldnt want to ruin a 8k+ brake system. Try to stick to soapy water and a sheepskin wash mitt for that

Around here you are going to find that most people wax their wheels with WheelWax and from then on use a very mild soap to clean them. In fact, after using WheelWax - if the wheels have not gotten wet - I can clean them with a small California Car Duster.

agreed. Using a wheel sealant will really make your life easy. Heres a link to one of my customers who used wheel sealant and made a post for those who didnt believe how easy the brake dust came off with simply rinsing it w/ water. If anyone wants the direct link I can provide it

"Since being introduced to the Poorboys line up by Chris at Glimmer Glass... ive been nothing but happy with every product ive used... they all do what they say they will do and some do a bit more... this happens to be one that does exactly what i expected/hoped it would do... so onto the experiment

this is approximately a weeks worth (300+miles) of brake dust build up.. the wheels have 3 coats of Poorboy's Wheel Sealant on them... 2 were done at the "big" detail i did and one was done recently to refresh/reinforce...

as you can see the wheels are absolutely filthy... OEM brembo pads are notorious for dusting a ridiculous amount...anyway... today i did my weekly wash before our tuesday night meets... i use my pressure washer to do my pre-rinse becuase it helps get the bugs and **** off the front end... along with the bug squash... heres a shot after i hit half the wheel with the PW..

as you can see the dust is almost completely gone... it just pretty much rolled right off the wheel... i took a short.. non-audio .. video clip so that people could see how i got the results.... id say this got 99% of the dust off the wheel... i just followed like i normally do with a damp rag to get the extremely stubborn parts...

this product gets a 5 out of 5 in my book!"
