Shops do this a lot, unfortunately. On my last car I had my wheels gouged during an alignment and I was told that if I had a problem with it I should take them to court. You can bet I don't recommend that shop to anyone. I had a dealership nick a wheel once too and they told me basically that they wouldn't charge me for the service, but thats kinda crappy too in the long run.
Luckily, I found a guy who does professional
wheel repair and he is like a magician, I would highly recommend you find a professional in your area and leave it to him/her.
