I, and many of the concours types, swear by Lexol leather cleaner (if needed) and conditioner applied every so often.

From my personal nightmare experience, I know that treatment with Lexol protected my seats when I accidentally left the sunroof open during a major thunderstorm complete with tornado warnings. Although pools of water were sitting in my seats, they cleaned up to like new even in a car known for leather seat issues.

Leatherique! The prestine clean is for general maintenance/cleaning/conditioning. The rejuvinator oil is to be used a little less often, but does an absolutely fantastic job for deep cleaning and softening. These are the best leather products I've used honestly.

Just my

I have both Lexol and Leatherique products sitting in my garage,.....no mistake about it, good products. However since I am a big Zaino fan for the outside of the car, I decided to see how good their products were for the inside of the car. I have never touched either the Lexol or Leatherique again and I wasn't expecting that.

Both the Zaino leather cleaner and conditioner are better products for a NEW leather interior. I say this because the cleaner just cleans, but doesn't leave any sort of residue, and the conditioner is very light and non-greasy......something I cannot say for the other two products.

IMO the Leatherique products are wonderful for bringing back a neglected leather interior, but are very heavy and oily,.....not something necessary for a new Porsche interior. Lexol is good, but leaves too much of what I would call a sticky residue for days after an application.

I use the Zaino cleaner about every week for basic cleaning, and the conditioner about twice a year. Both go on and off very easily, produce excellent looking results, and never leave a film or residue. Excellent products.

Not a fan of Lexol myself. Sort of harsh to my way of thinking. I like Spinneybeck For Sale of those mentioned myself.
Take a look here for an old thread with good info Leather Care - Detailed Instructions

By the way my cocoa leather still looks as good as the day I brought it home in 2/06 so taking good care of it pays off.

Ditto on the Zaino. It also has the scent of a new leather interior.

The ones I have tried are the Pinnacle Leather Cleaner & Conditioner (works well), the Connoly Hide Care conditioner and the Zaino Leather Cleaner and Leather in a Bottle Conditioner. Out of the three Zaino is by far the best, doesn't leave an oily residue and leaves the leather exactly as it did on day one. I used Connoly on my wife's BMW today and compared to the Zaino, it seems to have left a slightly oily feel to the seats. It is also a bit of PITA because it is sort of solid and has this liquid (I think white spirit) floating inside the jar. New leather only needs maintenance and Zaino in my experience (18 months using it) is the way to go. Consider getting 2 or 3 of the suggested products here and decide for yourself.

Let's not overlook the use of a windshield sun shade to prevent damage to the leather dashboard and seats. Reducing direct sun exposure and interior temperature will both help preserve leather condition.

The standard sized shade sold at Costco fits perfectly in the seam between the dashboard the headliner. For $7 it's hard to beat.

Well, it looks like I'll have to try the Zaino, even though Lexol saved my car once, and takes out and prevents leather folds in seats, the comments about it being a bit sticky for a couple of days are spot on.

One thing is for sure, I'll never have to worry about the "open sunroof" test in the Cayman

Can you confirm the product is Zaino Z-10? Do any of our sponsors have it if you happen to know off the top?

+1 for Spinneybeck. They make some of the finest leather in the world, they ought to know how to clean and preserve it. I got mine at LeatherZ Start Page
