Summer Storage for my Cayman S

I am going to be garaging my 06 Cayman S in Florida from May thru September. Any suggestions on anything I should do? Should I disconnect the battery? I'm concerned of trickle-charging it in the lightning capital of America and having its brains fried by a direct hit. Maybe I need to do nothing at all?
Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!

I can make room for it in my garage and watch it for you.
When I use to put my car up for the winter I would put it on jack stands to take the weight off of the suspension. I would also start it up every week or two. Disconnecting the battery is not a bad idea.

I would think you'd need to remove the wheels as well when doing this to remove the weight from pulling down on the suspension?

What about running a trickle charger through a surge protected power strip? If there is a power failure is there someone who can check on your car just to make sure that the charger is still charging?

While I was in the Army reserves I left my Boxster S sitting for months at a time and I never had a problem with flat spots. However, if you are worried there are rubber pads that you can put under your wheels. I've seen them advertised in Panorama. They are supposed to prevent flat spots.

There is a very good thead already in existence on winter storing of the Cayman. You should read that since the suggestions would all apply. As to lightning I use a surge protector on my charger.

If you are really worried, couldn't you leave a trickle-charger attached to the battery but removed (or at least detached) from the car? Then a lightning strike that makes it past a surge strip (get a good one!) could do no more damage than a killed battery?
