which areas do clear bra cover ?

I went to the Lumarr place (the only one avalible where i am), and they showed me the pattern of paint protective film for the cayman. it only covers the front bottom bumper, a bit of the bonnet, the bottom side skirts, a bit of the doors and a tiny bit of the back.

is this what all clear bras are like ? I thought getting clear bra is like vacum sealing the car with clear plastic and thus keeping it mint.

The 3M clear cover on my Cayman is just how you described "it covers the front bottom bumper, a bit of the bonnet, the bottom side skirts, a bit of the doors and a tiny bit of the back".

Never heard of a vacuum sealed clear cover.

The standard kit from the dealer covered the following

- front bumper (including the foglight spears)
- front fenders 1/3 of the way
- hood, 1/3
- headlights
- foglight
- back section of the front wheel arch.
- rear view mirror

In addition, I had some customer pieces added

- door sill all the way back and replacing the OEM piece in from of the engine intake.
- rear wheel arch
- gas cap and area underneath (we can pump our own gas here and the gas jockeys stab at the door to open it with whatever is handy.

Clear film install

thanks for the clear up, that put my mind at ease, i thought it'll cover the whole car, as they calmed that clear bra reduces skin friction and adds fuel effcience.

What? They claimed it reduced wind resistance? Humm, I would look for another shop. Never hear of that one. Too funny.

The main role of the bra is to protect the paint from the everyday wear and tear of debris on the road. Some people don't like the look because there is a slight difference in how it looks compared to bare paint.

Only you can decide if it's worth the expense to put it on.

Good luck.

I had the bumper, both fenders and the bonnet done in their entirety. I didn't like the edge of the film halfway up the bonnet. There are two seams in the film on the bonnet about 5 inches from the rear corners that are about a foot long. I also had both mirrors done.
