What type of applicator for vinyl treatment

There are two narrow groves with vinyl inserts for the roof transport system that I'm having a hard time putting vinyl treatment on without getting the treatment on the paint.

I know someone has figured this out and would love to share their idea?

Also, do you put vinyl treatment on the plastic between the hood and windshield where the wipers are attached?

I buy bunches of "disposable" foam brushes and cut the ends to fit different applications. For my dressings I keep them in ziplock bags to reuse them for next time.

^^ good recommendation on the disposable foam brushes. THey're a good way to get into tight areas.

For the exterior trim, a product like Trim Restorer - 16oz works very well. Another option is 303 Aerospace Protectant

I used the 303 on this particular application:

A little dab'll do ya . . .

Black Wow (sponsor) works great on the non-rubber black trim like the windshield wiper cowling.
