We (residents of Western Washington) have the benefit of being able to actually go to Griot's Garage for tips on how best to use their products. I attended a morning detailing seminar there last Saturday with the local section of the MB club, as I did two years ago.
The keys to using Best of Show with the random orbital buffer are to only use about a quarter size dob of wax on the pad at a time, apply it with the buffer until all brown color spots of wax disappear and allow the wax to dry to a haze. The resulting shine is excellent and I can say from personal experience performs well for three months on hand washings.
I've used other products including Meguiar's and agree that there are any number of great waxes and polishes out there including those from our site sponsors. I'm not trying to make any converts, but I think it's worth mentioning these usage hints because the Griot's line does yield excellent results.
What is P21 ? who makes it and I will try it and give you an honest Opinion.I do like the Griots orbital Buffer (Over Priced Though) I am still Impressed by this NXT2 Though..I must have 8 different waxes(Not Including Zaino) will try as well. McGuires gets the Nod .FYI the NXT2 is not Cheap .. I paid $23.00 for a bottle .I am one of those Detail Freaks
NXT is easy to use, but in my experience, does not last nearly as long as Zaino or P21 if you have your car out in the elements. The first Zaino coat is a chore (IMO), but the subsequent ones are easy and add to the look. I usually do 2 followed by one more a week later (have to rest the shoulders).
I did 1/2 my car In Griots Best In Show and 1/2 in Meguiars NXT Tech Wax 2.0. Now Before I go any further I must tell you I have been using Griots products and have the whole Dam product line in my garage including the orbital buffer and moblie detail bag so I am a little Biased towards them but my Red Neck Uncle wanted to prove to me his Meguiars was Better.First off the Griots is hard as hell to remove from the car always has been but I always felt it was worth it .how wrong I was .Uncle Rob had his half of my Cayman done in about 10 minutes total time when I was still working on the Hood ..Embarrasing I say he had to help me for over 1/2 Hour with my half of the car to get the Griots 1/2 done. After asking 6 people to come take a look and feel the car and make a choice without them knowing what product was on each 1/2 (like a blind taste test) much to my surprise all 6 chose the Meguiars NXT tech wax. This Product is simply amazing you dab it on the car and it just comes right off and the car feels like a kittens fur.I guess sometimes you got to listen to your RED NECK uncle. My foot is still firmly inserted into my mouth and now I have to live with MR KNOW IT ALL laughing all the way to his single wide Trailer..
Get Ol' Redneck back and re-do the test with Zymol, perhaps with a wager.
From the Zymol side, he'll see his huntin' dawg's reflection as purty as it can be!
I just tried some NTX 2 on my wife's black Mercedes. It leaves a haze. It's not easy to see. You have to get just the right viewing angle . . . but it's there. I'm sticking with zymol and/or P21 from now on . . . good GERMAN waxes.

And Where might I obtain such a potent brew of this bewillard Concockshin??? I will Lewer the old redneck out fur some more testing .
We got lots of Zymol put up in those fancy cannin' jars at Detailbest.com Store. We keep it way down in the root cellar so the young'uns and revenooers don't pay it no mind.
Anyone fixin' to buy those dang German vee-hicles ought to know there ain't no room for a gun rack.
I was mighty suspicious of them Germans till I learnt they're real partial to beer!
i still use the original nxt....i need to get to my autoparts store and try out nxt2!! I thought the first nxt did a great job on my car....always looked wet after I finish waxing!
There is no way NXT leaves a haze - No offense but maybe you did it wrong - perhaps you were waxing your car in the sun or not letting it set up for a few minutes before buffing it off or perhaps the paint was not clean to begin with or there was something on your buffing towel etc.
I can post a photo of it on a black car when I get home if you want, it looks like a mirror.
I would say that NXT doesn't last as long as some products on a 1 coat vs 1 coat comparisson. But the thing is, I can do 3x NXT in the time it takes me to do 1x of many other waxes. So with 3 coats, it would last longer - or another way to say it is that per-minute-of-time invested you will have longer lasting wax.
The main difference to me between NXT1 and 2 is that the new one seems easier to use (faster) and I heard that it may contain less cleaners (I think the original wax was a cleaner/synthetic-wax combined product, but not sure)
I am not saying it is the end-all of wax products though, there are many I have not yet tried. But I have tried a lot of Caranuba paste waxes, nano-waxes, zymol, zaino, mother's meguiar's turtle-wax and basically anything on your neighborhood retail shelf. I still have never tried Klasse for example which I think has a good reputation.
In my opinion there are differences between waxes BUT the process you use makes WAY more difference than the products you use. A good process with the WORST wax gives you better results than a bad process with the BEST wax.
For me, I would rather have a product or products that is/are easy to work with and do a more thorough job with extra layers or coats to get that deep lasting shine.
