Duragloss Water Spot Remover

Has anyone tried Duragloss Water Spot remover? It supposedly is sprayed on and removes water spots without damaging the finish. The website said that it will obviously not do anything for a paint finish that has been etched by the minerals.

Before launching a search for a place to buy this stuff, I thought I'd ask the knowledgeable members of this forum about it.

A search didn't bring up any hits on this subject.

Thanks,

Stephen Hirasuna

I haven't tried their Water Spot Remover but I use their other products and find them to be very good.

I would say that anything that chemically removes water spots once they are there(such as this product) won't do whatever wax you use any good. The object is to not get spots in the first place, which is done at the time of washing with a good water filter and/or special soap and rinse. A mixture of 1 oz of white vinegar to 20 oz of water will get rid of water spots instantly also, won't hurt the finish, but will strip wax off. This product will probably do about the same thing.

I think you can do better by simply using better washing and drying procedures.

My problem comes with intermittent rain showers, followed by bright sun, such as when the car in a the parking lot at the golf course. Washing the car hasn't been a problem.

I too think the Duragloss product will do about the same thing as vinegar and water. It's basically something to break down dried calcium.

I still say Duragloss makes good car care products. I've never used a product of theirs that hurt my cars/motorcycles in any way.

I just keep a coat of some protection on my paint (currently Klasse). If it gets water on it (e.g., rain, dew, sprinklers, etc), as soon as possible, like in the evening when I get home, I just go over it real quick with some instant detailer (I'm using Mother's brand but whatever you prefer). Takes maybe 10 minutes to wipe the spots off. It's a quick ritual that will keep the paint looking like new for years.
