I asked my detailer about how to clean the headlights as well as the 3M film that's on the headlights. They suggested Plexus, which to my amazment works great.

Plexus Plastic Cleaner Aerosol


This plastic polish is used by NASA and the Air Force.

yup - great stuff! I've been using it for a few years now. I started using PLEXUS on my 964 Cabriolet's plastic rear window. Now I use it to clean the 3M clear bra on the Cayman.

I keep it close by in the garage so I can give the plastic a quick spray and wipe off the bugs.

I concur, Plexus is a great product. I use it all the time, no complaints.

I use it on my SL500's rear window. best stuff around.

Good suggestion. I'd forgotten all about it since I no longer have a convertible. Very useful product.

Vegasted, that brings up something I read the other day about Plexus, it was recommended by a clear bra mfg. to use this on their film, I'm wondering what would happen if I used Zaino products or other brands I have? Does anyone else use one particular wax on their clear bra or does just about any "good" brand work? I'm having the Venture Shield brand installed next week when the car hits the dealer. I haven't discussed the particulars with the installer yet.

Boxman I use P21S on the bra as well as the rest of the car and I have read here about the Zaino users using that as well with no problems. Some waxes can leave a residue against the bra line. My installer suggested using blue painters tape on that portion to prevent it. The blue tape is not sticky and pulls right off.

I've been using Plexus on my helmet visors (bike and car) as well as pretty much all surfaces on my motorcycle as a quick clean/dust remover. The stuff is great.
Also note that perhaps the best product like this is the Honda cleaner/wax. It comes in a black can and sells for about the same price. Smells nice too!

I wonder if I'm over doing something here.

For those of you that are using a Plexus (or similar product) on your clear bra, is that something that was recommend to you? The reason I ask is that the person who installed my clear bra recommended that I treat it the same as the car's paint: clay, polish and wax.

Do you think I'm 'over maintaining' the clear bar, possibly damaging it, due to the three step process?

Here's why I asked about using Plexus wax over "other" brands. Vegasted said he had Pro-Tec film installed on his car, I went into their web site and under Proper Care, they recommended "Plexus" and a Turtle Wax brand I never heard of "Ice" something. I'm one of the few people who "loves" to wax cars, I will do it weekly for something to do and after paying close to $900 for the Venture Shield clear bra to be attached, I sure don't want to "wax it" to much! Like others on the Forum I read you treat it like you normally would the paint and that's what I intend to do.
