Performance Box data logger

I just got my delivery of one of these. http://www.performancebox.co.uk/

I have owned many GPS's for various uses. The engine in this one seems very fast. The speed display updates 10x per second and there seems to be no noticable lag.

I havn't had a chance to use the laptimer, datalogging feature or engine power tests just yet.

But on the way to work this morning I tested the performance function (0-100 times etc.)

This is a great feature. When you stop, the system detects 0kmph and resets. Then when you hit the power it automatically records 0-60, 0-100 etc. to 1 tenth of a second.

I didn't really get a good blast (at I was in morning traffic) but I stil managed 6.5 seconds 0-100 (kmph) on one open bit of road. I had already rolled of the line slowly when I decided to take it to the redline - so I have no doubt recording a time closer to Porsches performance stats will be pretty easy.

I'll let you know how I go, and upload a telemetry file from mt next track event also.

The main reason I got the system is for real time lap and sector results in club sprints. When I get a corner or lap right, I want to know about it then and there so I can replicate next time around, and then analyse when I get home!

Cheers

DT

Im sure its functional, but I would prefer if the antenna was split from the display. That way I could avoid the ugly box on the window and have a more subtle low profile mini antenna dash top mounted and the display under the dash outta the way somewhere.

Very nice, I am sure it will be a lot of fun. I have the Gtech SS, and love it.

I think when you are running laps around the track, you need the display right in front of you. I don't leave it in the car all the time.

I did some 0-100 tests this morning. I only had two attempts and it was from the traffic lights. 5.8s both times.

Anyone else tried timing 0-100? (kph). What results compared to Porsches claims?

I have a traqmate installed for the track. I doesnt have a 0-60 feature but can do a whole load of data for the track. Install was super easy and the software is pretty cool, you can actually show differant lines around track you took(ie a pass)
