0-60 times using the G-timer

Calibrated and installed my g-timer yesterday.
Used what I thought were failry conservative numbers (3450lbs) and made three runs on a flat surface.
First run; 5.1 seconds, 297hp
Second run 4.815, 297hp
and the third; 4.85, 298 horsepower.
My questions are; I assume these speeds are farily normal with the minor mods I have. Two, I really expected to have it display more horsepower at the crank. So one of these things is wrong
1. bad calibration
2. low horsepower to start with, prior to the mods
3. the mods didn't do much
4. I'm not reading this thing correctly...
Any words of wisdom?

Sorry WD no words of wisdom, just two questions about your mods. Do you have aftermarket headers and de-snoked?

If you'll check his sig....

I think your weight is estimated a little high, personally. My CS optioned as light as possible with all performance goodies weighed in at something like 2980 with base wheels, IIRC. I can't imagine with driver you're much over 3250.

WD,

While it has been awhile since the Turkey Run, I really don't think you weigh 450lbs. Of course, I assume that if you reduce the weight of the car then the HP numbers will decrease which will give further "off" numbers.

I wonder what everyone else has their numbers set at for the timer.

Jesse

What settings are you using on your G-meter?

Rollout distance - Rollout distance for both 0 to 60 and the ¼ mile—12”—which is a "shallow-staging" standard that often is attempted on dragstrips and often is used in magazine tests.

Pitch Correction - The GT2 manual indicates that, in trying to develop pitch correction factors for the C5 Z06 and the Audi S4, values of 1.5 and 2.0 had worked well. Note that the older manual (not sure if it changed) indicates that an increase/decrease in the pitch correction factor of .2 will result in “a .03 slower/faster ¼ mile time

So I'm guessing the CS would probably be about 1.7 ish? or even 1.6?

Test Weight of Car - 3450? sounds like people are saying its too high...

Drive-train Loss - 0.15? for manual tranny?

Rolling Resistance - 0.13 is default... so I guess leaving it at that wont be too bad.

Aerodynamic drag - no idea pick a number. 6.8 worked well for Passport on the Audi S4. so for the CS 6.3? Some have used 6.5 for the BMW 545 so 6.3 would be a good guess for the CS.

Hahhaha well there you go. 6.1. Actually I originally guessed 6.1 but I thought that might be too low. so I said 6.3 instead. Like they always say for test... go with your first instinct!

In this case I was actually just pasting in the line from another post. By me. That went on rather at greater length. I suppose there's no point arguing the obvious

I did Donnie but he doesn't list if he has headers so I guess I can deduce he does not.

No headers (yet), and no 450lbs (a little less than 200 actually).
I went back this afternoon with a full tank of gas (about 100lbs, and the best time I could get was a 5.1, but I really didn't get even one good launch. I either broke the wheels loose, or got that weird clutch slipping thing.
I went back and double checked my numbers, and they are:
CdA at 6.1, weight at 3400 (a bit high I think), and took the rest of the values as suggested.
I'll have a few more runs this week when I get the chance.
I also found a nice place to try and test my lateral g's, but I didn't get what I expected. Essentially I was going around in tight circles until the rear end broke loose and that was about .82.
It was a fun afternoon anyway, so any time I get to play with a new gadget and drive my CS, I'm good.
