New Jersey Dealer Service

Well, I'm going to place my order for a CS this week. My problem is choosing between one of two dealers. Both have been so nice and extremely helpful. My question is this, can anyone tell me how they have found the service to be at Ray Catena or Paul Miller? Thanks.

I did not buy my car at Ray Catena, but I did have a service experience with them... three years ago, the 50th anniversary Porsche parade was held in Hershey, PA. I drove out there over 4 days with some fellow PCA folks from the SF Bay Area. I owned a 2002 996 turbo at the time, bought at the dealer I deal with in the Bay Area. Anyway, after the week-long parade, I went to see a friend in New Jersey, for a few days before driving home. On the way to NJ from Hershey, the CD player went nuts, skipping, getting louder, then no volume... just nuts. When I got to my friend's house, I asked where the nearest dealer was and she said Ray Catena - So, the next day we drove over there - no appointment - just drove in and explained to the service guy what was going on... also explained why I was out on the Right Coast, and I would have a very long trip back to CA without music in my rocket. They took it right in, changed it out under warranty with a brand new one - bought me and my friend lunch because I had to wait.... they even washed the car, and did a good job - it was a black car, and it was a mess... that was good service. As always, YMMV... but the shop was impeccably clean, and everyone was quite nice.

I purchased my cayman s from Ray Catena. I live in Brooklyn, N.Y. and also checked out Manhattan Motor cars. But I got a better deal with Ray. I haven't had the need to take my car back yet. Most of my questions about any issue with the car have so far been answered here. Since I haven't been back yet since December when I picked up my car I don't know what to expect. But the response here seems to be good when referring to Ray Catena. What I did appreciate was when I decided that I wanted to buy a sport car, it was January 06 and a friend and I just for the heck of it decided to take a drive to Ray and on the same day we got there, one of the sales guy just decided to take me out for a spin. Scared the hell out of me. We had some fun. I knew he was trying to make a sale, and he did a good job impressing me with the car. Then it was my turn. In Manhattan I would have to make an appointment. So after about eight months, I placed my order with Ray Catena. Ask for Gino Caterino.

Beez, I remember reading about your experience before, and I appreciate your giving a little more detail. Yours is the only one I have to go on. I've seen both service areas and both are clean. The mechanics at Paul Miller have all had a number of years experience on the job. I don't recall Ray Catena's because it was awhile ago. Anyone else have any experience with service?

My friend purchased his 911 C4S and now his 911 Turbo from Paul Miller, simply because it was an easier location for him. He dislikes it so much, he makes one of his employees take the car in for service. Why? I don't know. When I asked him why he just said he didn't like going there.

I went to visit both Ray Catena and Paul Miller to look at the car. The receptionist at both were very helpful to me in getting someone to help me right away. The salesman were better at Ray Catena.

At Paul Miller I asked the salesman to give me a call when they got a specific color in - since I've never seen it in person. I never got that call, but I did see that color on the lot a couple weeks later as I was driving by. Also, no luck on the test drive either at Paul Miller. But to be fair, they were never rude.

Both dealers were extremely helpful. Both gave me test drives. At Paul Miller, the last test drive was for a good 45 minutes. The previous one was about 20 minutes. Both dealers seem good. My final decision hopefully will be based on service, since everything else seems equal. Salesman and price are petty much the same.

Catena service

I've bought 3 vehicles from Ray Catena in the past 5 years: CLK320, ML350, and 2006 Cayman S. Any service issues have been taken care of quickly and professionally and I don't have to bring the car in. Just call the salesman, who picks up the car (work or home), and drops off a loaner.
