How has your cocoa special leather held up over time?
I still have about two weeks to alter the spec on my car. I'm getting an Arctic Silver Boxster with black Sports Seats. One of the final options I'm debating is whether to go for the Cocoa Special Leather. Since I have the Sport Seats, it'd add about $2,200 to the cost (no big deal). Silver on black is a classic combination, but cocoa looks great against silver. I have two questions:
1. Does Cocoa match with Arctic Silver? Most of the cocoa interiors I've seen are on GT Silver cars. People on this forum have indicated that GT Silver has a touch of charcoal/brown in it which is enhanced by the cocoa leather. Has anyone ordered Cocoa against Arctic Silver? If so, does it look good, and would you do it again?
2. Does Cocoa wear well over time? One of the attractions for me to black leather is that it doesn't get dingy or discolored over time, and should be relatively easy to keep looking new. Does your cocoa interior still look great, or is there uneven fading/discoloration on it after tens of thousands of miles?
If I decide to go with Cocoa eather, I'd happily sign up for the full leather option. If I stick with black, I'm not so sure - I sat in a car with black full leather, and didn't feel it was that different from a standard black interior. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
PS. Here's GT silver with Cocoa. It looks awesome. I'm wondering if Arctic Silver is too light.
And one other thing, consider going with the deviated carpet, black on the floor might look great and sync in that Arctic Silver.

Don'tmiss scraping my master's windshield, winter oil, winter tires, chains, pluggin' in the car over night--block water heater! and interior warmer. And having to put anti-freeze in my GAS!

Black on the floor looks great and breaks up an otherwise monotone interior. Rather than paying $$ for the deviated carpet option, I added a set of custom fit black mats from WeatherTech. Going this route keeps the Cocoa carpeting around the footwell, console, behind the seats and lower doors.
Random thoughts---
1) Don't like the black carpet idea although the headliner is black, as are the door sill trim and gasketing and it would go well with these. The cocoa carpet is lighter than the leather and makes a beautiful combination.
2) My cocoa (only 1 year and 5700 miles old and almost never in the sun) gives every indication of lasting forever; love it!
3) Big advantage of full leather is the added detail stitching on dash and doors (and the smell)
4) Does getting the console in leather include the bit ahead of the shift boot? Do wish I had got that piece in leather but probably would have drawn the cost line at the console.
5) Black upholstery, like black paint, requires extra effort. The SEAMS get dust, lint, or whatever accumulated in them and it all begins to look a bit seedy. I'm in the small minority who don't care for it. But with silver it is perhaps the best. Fun decisions, Ed
I've had a GT silver CS with cocoa special leather since mid-'06 and love the combination and the smell (I take a deep breath when first opening the car door). So far the cocoa leather has held up very well despite Hawaii's intense sun but the door and hatch windows are tinted and the car is garaged. GT silver is a bit darker with grey in it, compared to AS, but I think the AS/cocoa combination will be great too!
If I decide to go with Cocoa either, I'd happily sign up for the full leather option. If I stick with black, I'm not so sure - I sat in a car with black full leather, and didn't feel it was that different from a standard black interior. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
I wound up ordering full black leather and center/rear console. I thought the standard interior to be cheap. I am very happy, especially with the console. My salesman talked me into this option as I had not considered it before. He said that this option is a must with full leather. It was the first thing I looked at when I sat in my car. He was right. I wanted a plusher interior versus a more racer car. Just so you know my exterior color is midnight blue. To me an odd combination but I saw an example on the dealers floor and loved it, but hated the standard interior.
First of all get full leather......it's well worth it in any color.
I love cocoa leather......but IMO it does match better with GT Silver rather than Arctic......but you can't go wrong with either. I'm a big fan of Arctic on Black.....or Sea Blue. If you haven't looked at Sea Blue yet.....I have it with Atlas Grey, but it's a very good match with Arctic.......
Lovely interior Atlas_Croc! Does the Sea Blue Full Leather Interior lighten up in direct sunlight? Also, the Atlas Grey Metallic trim pieces are a sophisticated, yet sporty touch. Well done!

when I ordered my CS , I ordered the beige Interior in all leather, ordered every leather option inside the car, and then went with full Carbon inside again with every carbon option Porsche offered for the CS. The carbon console is totally awsome, as is the carbon dash trim by the front windshield. My dealer said they had never ordered a car in with all fiber options. I thought the standard CS interior was indeed lacking but $32 grand in options later, I think my CS now is outstanding. Got more in it than I will ever see in return, but life is short. I will do it again on my next CS. What a super automobile..
I would absolutely love to see some pictures, both exterior and interior, of your Cobalt Blue/Sand Beige Full Leather Porsche Cayman S jocko. I bet it’s a sight to behold with all the appointments you mentioned. I couldn’t agree with you more GeoMedic. When the time comes, I will strongly evaluate the interior choices I’m presented with, unless I have some unrealized voyeuristic tendencies of my own that force me to spend countless hours looking at the exterior of the vehicle. I guess that wouldn’t be a bad thing would it?
