Still in Germany.......Grrrrr.

Got an update yesterday on my car........still in Germany . Apparently the few so called 'exclusive' options (3painted pieces, 460 Steering Wheel (maybe)) is what slowed it down enough that the factory went on vacation and didn'tstart working on it until after the beginning of the year I guess. Not very happy at this point....I could havetorn down and rebuilt a Porsche engine in less time than this stuff has taken. JustFYI for future orderers to be......when ordering try and stay away from the exclusive stuff unless you enjoy waiting, as theydon't appear to do anything in a verytimely manner.......it's been over a month since my car showed to be 'completed'.

So who's got the info on what ships are scheduled to leave in the future?? Gotta have something to look forward to. Chrissmillion......are you still at the same point?

Makes me worry about some of my options, I better call the dealer and see how it's going. We know it's not the coco interior - as someone else got that already. Might be the painted pieces.

Sorry to hear that, did they tell you the status code?

Russ -

According to Porsche it still has a production completed status (as of Dec 12th if I'm not mistaken)......which is kinda stupid if its not done! What painted pieces did you order? Do you have a build date?

Wow, you got the same story. Guess it's true.... Looks you'd better enjoy your painted pieces as much as I need to enjoy my #CXBIllum Door Entry Guards. ****!

It's not the waiting, it's the unmet expectations.... I had all kinds of plans....

The dealer SHOULD have been ahead of news like this.

I totally agree. I would have probably forgone anything that would hold the car up a month (or more its looking like)......that was the whole idea for getting an early build date......just to make sure it was here by or close to the 14th. I mean how hard can it be to get a few items painted and on the car? They should have had the pieces pre-painted and ready to go.

I don't really blame the dealer as they were pretty much on the same page as I was......a Nov build date......anything should be able to get done in a timely manner, but it would be nice if the factory had better communications with them and let them know when and why a customers car would be detained and for how long.

Atlas, any new info? None on my end... Except that Capital One extended my loan offer another 45 days withoutanother inquiry. Which is great because my FICO is down and interest rates are up!

I've been looking longingly at the Caymans and Carrerasavailable today.... but I'm going to wait. It's MY spec Cayman that got me off the sofa in the first place.

Nothing new Chris........last thing my salesman said was that he was expecting a status change very soon and would let me know ASAP. We'll see.......I've been trying to put it out of my head lately, but its hard. I went with Eloan this time instead of Capital One as they actually gave me a slightly better rate......gotta call them to see if I can get an extension......hopefully so. I hate this......had everything planned so perfectly!

5.65 for 37 - 60 mo.

And reallythe tenth of a pointor two increase is nota deal breaker forme in any way.......it's just the principle of the matter. I do know there are slightly better rates to be had through a credit union, but I like to keep my open accounts to a bare minimum and havehad excellent experiences with Cap 1 and Eloan in the past.....nice and simple.

Dealer called and said my car was on the water. I've heard that before, so no celebration until I get a boat name, which was promised tomorrow. But he did say to expect delivery first week of Feb.

Chris,

They finally confirmed I'm on a boat last week but still have not told me which boat. They called and said they have cars to test, have you?

Good luck

SF- Thanks!
CC- Nope. I sat in a Boxster to check for fit (or lack thereof) and that was enough. I'll post the boat name when I get it.

I too got the painted options. Grill, rear view mirros and air intake in the aluminum look. Also delayed my order through December as they went on vacation and now they are invoicing the car. Did delay it, but I am looking forward to how it will turn out.
