Can Sport Crono package be added to a car without it?

It should just be a software reprogram right?
I dont care about the clock.

Depending upon what you mean exactly there may be actual hardware modules involved as well, not just a simple software flash, but for many of the sport chrono features like mapping the throttle, there is a software flash available - see the SNAP-FLASH info.

(updated because rocket goes around checking all my threads on a daily basis. )

Each car is built with a custom wiring harness, unique to that car and it's factory-delivered options, so the wiring doesn't exist on a car without SC. So, you'd have to start with a new harness, and you'd have to practically tear the car completely apart to R&R it. Simple math says it's not viable unless you have a ton of money to flush.

Thanks for your replies.
How about a ECU reflash that can also take care of the triptronic and make it fully Manual when in "M" mode.

I really hate that it upshifts by itself when in "M "
I know with the Sport Crono package it becomes fully manual when in M.

Really thats the only complain I have about my car.

Supposedly you can get the throttle response of the Sport Chrono by doing an ECU flash and I know GIAC has a specific flash just for tiptronic cars, but I don't believe that is one of the features of the flash... but your best bet might be to contact them or Revo Technik, both sponsors of the site.

Thanks, I contacted GIAC and they say they might have it , or if not they will make it.
According to them even better than Porsche.

If you don't have SC (like me) turn off your PSM, it will prevent the card from upshifting unless you fully depress the pedal(there is a little push button feeling when you completely push it in) when in M mode.

John:Will try your theory but there is no way I will drive in the twisties the way I do, without PSM.
It saves me at least once every drive, definitelly will not make it without it.

Also I feel the car has less roll and is better for the turns with PSM on.

The situation I dont like is when sometimes you redline all the way to the next corner, and lift to brake with compression and brakes as well before the turn, just when you lift, it upshits, you end up entering the turn, in a taller gear, faster than you want it and without compression braking.
not good!!!

This has happened to me too many times and its nasty.

My dealer told me he would have do some serious tear down of the dash etc and that is would cost well over 3K to do it. He talked me out of it fast.

In my opinion the clock, at least, cannot be added unless you replace the dash (in addition to all the other parts already mentioned in this thread).

The part of the dash (where the clock is supposed to be), is curved in cars with SC and slightly flat in cars w/o SC.

I used to have a the 06 with SC & i've got an 07 now w/o SC. To me the dash appears different where the clock is supposed to be.
