<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">Well not any dust but this dust. The long gravel road from my place to pavement guarantees that I'll get a layer of dust on my vehicles on each trip in and out. I've been using a <st1:state w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">California</st1lace></st1:state> duster after each trip coupled with a misting of Meguiars Quick Detailer removed with a micro towel. I've been know to perform this ritual on the out trip if I wanted to look clean when I arrive somewhere. Even the duster doesn't remove all the dust but I haven't seen any scratches. The paint is well waxed to begin with butspending several hours detailing car is a bit pointless.Do any of you car care gurus have any better suggestions for dust removal?
Wow, that's quite the ritual! Short of paving your road, I agree with Atlas... you're doing about the best I could possibly think of... find a good straightaway after your dusting and hit the throttle, that should blow off what's left on the car.

I'm curious how far it is from your garage to pavement. I used to live about a mile off and having a clean car was impossible. I've done the same cleaning when I reach the pavement.... weak!!!
mpolard hit on the only real fix... depending on how far. You could spend a fortune just to keep dust off your cars.
We have a 0.25 mile long drive way that was a source of dust on our vehicles. Being in the oil biz, I called some fellow operators and they volunteered me their tank bottoms of black asphaltic crude oil which contains too much water and sediment to sell. I had a grader come in and windrow the gravel off the road then had the tankers spray the crude on the road bed. The grader then worked the gravel back in creating a poor man's ashpalt. It sure killed the dust but I don't think it will last more than a few years before requiring another shot of waste crude.
Thanks guys. It is one mile to pavement. Keeping 3 cars clean is a bit of a chore. At least the Cayman will be smaller. Maybe it will rain one day (that environmentally friendly solution MP mentioned). My wife would not be surprised if I trailered the Cayman back and forth.....
You are driving too slowly, dust can only collect on your car if you are driving slower than the dust that is settling, as long as you aren't behind someone else just floor it and outrace the dust...
