Question Coolant leak?

I have a CS with 420 miles. Went out this morning and noticed a light green slightly oily puddle under the left rear tire. Believe it's coolant. Checked coolant level and seemed below minimum. Added about 8 ounces of water and was back up to max.

There is a steady drip coming from above the left rear wheel.

Dealer says to bring it in. No problem except the dealer is 75 miles.

Anyone know what might be wrong? Any advice?

Welcome to the Club, sorry to hear that your first contact with the boards is because you are having an issue with your car.

A coolant leak is something that has been discussed here before and it would seem that it has been found that some of the clamps that hold the coolant lines together are substandard. If you do a search on 'coolant leak' I think you will find some answers. Here is one to get you started...

coolant leak

It would seem that some of the dealers are admitting to the fault, the best course of action is to take your car to the dealer ASAP.

Thanks. The service manager did not seem surprised. Now I know why. Hope I make there without walking.

You can always call Porsche RSA and have them tow you there.

Porsche coolant is flourescent red (orange, pink depending on the light). I'm curious to know why yours is light green!

My first thought is that the cap isn't on real snug, and some fluid vented out the drain hole by the cap. But, I don't believe that would exit under the "left" rear tire.

Keep an eye on it to see if it recurs. If not, chalk it up to odd. Sometimes the A/C drains/vents and the water can get to other places on the ground. Green? That is odd.

An update after visit to the dealer. Coolant is red as noted by fmarshall.

This was the PASM shock seal letting go. Verified by my "butt dyno" which by the time I got to the dealer was saying "hey, that bump felt a little sharp"

Dealer had to get one. Hoping to get the car back tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone for help and support.
