2006 vs 2007 emissions

Anyone know why the Cayman S seems to (claim to) polute less on the 2007 than on the 2006 - the window sticker shows that the '07 is more efficient...???

Is there actually a power difference due to this or is this just a technicality?

are you speaking of the EPA mileage estimates? they EPA recently changed their testing methodology for fuel consumption, but that actually should *reduce* fuel economy, not improve it.

Is it possible that you may be comparing a 2006 Cayman S to a 2007 Cayman? The 2.7 of course gets better mileage, and the 5 speed actually shows less pollution because the test is done in 3rd gear.

The new EPA ratings take place in calendar year 2008.

..my comapison is in the two different window stickers that I still have for both a 2007 "S" and a 2006 "S" and the graph that shows how much a car "polutes" and I think refers to More on the left and Less on the right and the 2007 CAYMAN S says that is polutes "LESS" on this scale.

Any one know why?

I know there is a sliding horizontal scale comparing it to other cars in it's class. Is this what you're talking about? If so, that might just be because the other cars in that class have gotten worse.
