Window Help

Okay, I have had my car for about a year. I have not been able to get the outside of my windows clean. They have swirls everytime i clean them anyway i decided to have the expert *MY WIFE* come out and try and lord behold they still have swirls on them. Is there some sort of film that is still on them? HELP!

Are you referring to the grease problem?

Question

i've also noticed on my car that the glass is more difficult to clean than the metal. streaks & smears no matter what I do. paper towels are the worst (and don't flame me for using paper towels, i don't have the patience for it). It got a lot better using micro-fiber cotton towels...but you know??? there are always smudges & streaks. And it does seem to me that there is some kind of film on the glass...that I did not put there.

There's a special coating on your side windows that is put on there to shed water quickly in the rain... next time you wash your car, take the hose and throw a bunch of water on the window, and you'll see that the water can't get off of them fast enough... the hollow part of the arms that mount the side-view mirrors are designed to shove air through them and across the side windows, together with this coating, it keeps the side windows virtually free of water in the rain - I've driven in the rain a lot on some long cross country trips, and it really does work.

Anyway, I use Sprayway and it works great, doesn't leave streaks or swirls. YMMV.

I use a product called Invisible Glass that comes in either aerosol or trigger spray and is available at Auto Zone. I think it works really well.

I use a window cleaner and special paper towels from Griot's Garage. The results are pretty good.

i like the idea of Sprayway, but i seem to get a broadly projected cloud of white foam that doesn't want to stay within the lines of my glass!
