This is more than just an exchange rate issue, Porsche Canada is still gouging the Canadian buyers, I understand that the 2008 models will be reduced by up to $10.000. Cdn, but that leaves little comfort for those of us who bought a new 2007 here in Canada.
I paid $92,000.00 not including taxes for my Boxster S when all was said and done. I could have gotten a new 997 S in the US for that kind of money at today's exchange rate. I hope Porsche Canada will somehow realize that it’s looking better all the time to go shopping south of the border.

I feel your pain. Luckily, I'm on an expat assignment in the USA right now for a few years. I just bought my Cayman S a few months back..... I'm going to trade it again just before I move back to Canada to enjoy the exchange rate.
I never would have bought the CS if I had to pay Canadian prices!!
Feel for us in the UK!!! I've just paid USD102k for a CaymanS with PASM, sports chrono, basalt black, auto climate, heated seats, partial leather, sports exhaust -- how come it's so much cheaper to ship the cars so much farther?
PASM - Porsche Active Suspension Management
This active damping system offers continuous adjustment of individual damping forces based on current road conditions and driving style.
The driver can choose from two setup modes, ‘Normal’ and ‘Sport’, using a separate ‘damper’ button on the center console. ‘Normal’ mode is designed for general road driving and circuits with uneven tarmac. ‘Sport’ mode is intended for smoother track surfaces, where the harder settings help eliminate pitch and roll.
In either mode, PASM continuously evaluates the current conditions while automatically selecting the corresponding damper rates from the respective set of mapped values.
A range of sensors are used to monitor the movement of the body under acceleration, braking and cornering maneuvers, as well as on poor road surfaces. The PASM control unit then evaluates this data and modifies the damping force on each individual wheel in accordance with the selected mode. The result is a significant reduction in body movement as well as a better grip on the road.
For example: if ‘Sport’ mode is selected, the suspension is automatically set to a harder damper rating. If the quality of the track surface falls below a certain threshold, the system immediately changes to a softer rating within the ‘Sport’ setup range. When the quality of the tarmac improves once more, PASM automatically returns to the original, harder rating.

Sport Chrono and Chrono Plus
This optional package is a valuable addition for trackday use. Available in conjunction with the CDR-24 CD radio, it includes a swivel-mounted analog and digital timer unit which is centrally located on the dashboard. All functions are easily accessible via the control stalk for the on-board computer. Analog dials measure hours, minutes and seconds, while a separate digital field displays whole seconds, tenths and one hundredths of a second. A second digital display runs in parallel in the instrument cluster. Click this Link to visit the FAQ entry for Sport Chrono.
PSE - Porsche Sports Exhaust System
The acoustics of this dual-mode sports exhaust system are dependent on driving style, ranging from standard output during normal road driving to a more aggressive tone during performance use. Modes are selected using a button on the center console (or ‘Sport’ mode button on vehicles with optional Sport Chrono Package/Sport Chrono Package Plus).
Introduction planned for 04/2007. Some models may require additional components. For detailed information about this product, please contact your Porsche dealer.

That's not that far off CDN prices considering that's a tax included price. The CDN prices I'm quoting are for a Cayman without the 14% tax.
Does anyone know the procedure (or where to find it) for a Canadian to buy a car in the USA and then bring it back to Canada? Seems like one can save at least $10,000 to buy from the USA.

Why do you want to do something stupid like that? (customs fees)
Move to the U.S.!!!!

To quote an Australian buddy, "cars are free in the US, everybody knows that!"....explaining why he bought a new M roadster in 1999 (as soon as he got here) for about 1/2 of what he could have bought the same car in Australia for...
