I prefer driving in the sports mode around town because it is more responsive. What are your preferences? Does the sports mode use more gas?

I would think its all up to the individual driver. The SC sport mode is simply a more aggresive throttle response to a given input. If we both accelerate to 60mph (under part throttle) I would need to press a little further on the gas pedal to get the same response from the engine as you would in SC sport mode. The difference in gas used
would pretty much be nothing IMO. Full throttle in any Cayman will be just that....full throttle, whether it has SC or not. I've tested many, there's no diff at full throttle between SC and non SC cars.

I would assume from your post though that since you like a very responsive Cayman in city driving....you would probably use more gas with or without SC, response is just that. If you had a Cayman without SC, you would be pressing the pedal a little harder to get the "response" you were looking for.

When I first got my car, I wasn't sure I really like Sport Chrono. But now, I absolutely love it. When I feel like driving a little more spirited, I go for sport. Otherwise, I am usually in Normal mode. Especially in the city, and always in stop and go traffic. The hair trigger throttle is harder to drive smoothly in these circumstances.

I agree with Gator Bite, I use the "normal" mode most of the time in city driving - but when on open road or on the track, watch out!!

I'm with Allans. I perfer sports mode in town. Love the enhanced throttle response.
