I decided to go back to my original plan...

I am going to wait for Paint to Sample- Arrow Blue for my Cayman S. I think I would of been happy with Speed Yellow, but I wantmy car to be different. This is what I originally wanted to do but got caught up in the 'I WANT IT NOW' mood. Waiting will be hard, especially when you guys are driving your cars around... But when I get mine it will be worth the wait. Plus, I can save more money in the mean time to add some more options that are not available now....

In the mean time my 911 racecar will keep me occupied.

I am assuming Arrow Blue is the same colour as your 911? Sweet. I would get Gulf Oil blue if I had the extra money to pay for PTS ($10k in Australia).

I can fully understand your desire. The car will be spectacular without doubt. The waiting may be a little difficult but worth it. Will your dealer accept the Paint to Sample option? Also I got the impression that a larger (possibly non refudable)deposit would be required if I did the Paint to Sample, any truth to that?

Yes stick to your guns, I want to see the car in that color! I don't have the funds for PTS, but if I did, and Porsche would accept it, I'd probably go large metal flake candy apple red, always wanted a car in that color since Corvette summer in the 70's... Another PTS I would consider is one of those deep metallic bronze with dark shadowing paint jobs, saw a custom one like that on a Mitsubishi test car and it looked incredible, really showed off the lines of the car because of the element in the paint that causes darkening when viewed at certain angles. Gulf Blue and Orange might also be fun...

I'm sure they may ask for a deposit. They did not ask for one when I was getting the SY at the time. They have seen the race car and love the color (I think they are more excited than me to see the Cayman S in that color). They know it will be a great looking car. They also know I will be waiting for that sucker

The dealer is going to let me know when they can choose the paint to sample option in the computer. He was thinking probably around the launch the order will go in. The paint to sample cars have to be submitted before March 31st, 2006. We know that from the order guide.
