How to Upload Pictures to the Forum (OLD)

THIS TOPIC HAS BEEN SUPERCEDED BY THE FOLLOWING TOPIC, PLEASE REFER TO THE FOLLOWING TOPIC INSTEAD:

http://www.caymanclub.net/showthread...ear#post127976

Here's the 'proper' way to upload images into message topics within the Forum (not to be confused with uploading to the Image Galleries). The first thing you need to do is to click on the icon to add an image, it looks like a mountain with the sun over it:

When you click that icon you will receive a pop-up that looks like this:

At this point you can either type the URL of the photo into the URL text entry box, or upload a picture. If you have already placed your picture someone on the web like Sony Imagestation, or even in our own Cayman Club galleries simply type in the URL and then type in the width as '800' or smaller if your original image is larger than 800x600. Then click OK. If you want to Upload a picture from your computer to the message forum then you need to click on the UPLOAD tab.

Step 1 is to click the Upload tab. Then Step 2 is to click the Browse button to find the image on your computer that you want to upload into the forum. When you click the Browse button you will receive a windows dialog box where you can choose the image to upload:

Select the image you want and click the OPEN button. The windows dialog box will go away and the Upload panel will now have the filename listed in the Upload entry box that you want to upload.

Now click the Send it to Server button. The upload tool will now send the file from your hard drive to the Cayman Club web server. Depending upon the size of the image this could take a few seconds to a minute or more if you are on a slow connection. When the file has arrived at the server you will receive the following message:

Click the 'OK' button on the windows dialog box ONLY. This will take you to the PREVIEW image panel and where you can resize your image. We request that all images uploaded into the forum are 800x600 or smaller to save on bandwidth and improve readability in the forum. You should use a tool like MS Paint or Photoshop or any number of free image tools out there to resize your photo BEFORE you upload. However, if you've forgotten to do so it is still possible to resize your photo using the PREVIEW panel shown below:

Once you have adjusted the size of your photo, then click the 'OK' button at the bottom of the Preview panel and your image will be inserted into your message topic post.

NOW PRESS THE RETURN KEY ON YOUR KEYBOARD! You want to do this to put a hard return after your photo, especially if you are going to upload more photos or enter text after your photo. You should always have a 'hard' return before and after each photo, otherwise they will string right to left and mess up the topic formatting.

If you have forgotten to resize your photo you can EDIT your photo at any time by clicking on it and pressing the same icon of the mountain with sun above it that you pressed to get started. This will bring up the edit/preview window with your photo in it and you can type in the new size into the width/height boxes, click ok and save your photo to the new smaller size.

If you have any questions please ask! Please follow these rules when posting images to the forum.

Thanks!

I guess I would suggest using a more standard computer or a more standard browser.

Supported browsers are listed at www.fckeditor.net

Coco - try Camino 1.0 - latest version. Just tried it on my mac, and can see the icons, including the mountains. None of the other mac browsers seem to work.

Happy uploading.
