and also, does your warranty start from the day u buy ur car, or from the model year it is? Example being if a caymans warranty is indeed 2 years and lets say you bought ur car in june of 06. does ur warranty end on jan o8(since ur model is an 06 model) or june of 08 (since thats really is 2 years of u owning the car.)
finally my last question is, has anyone looked into buy an extended warranty? does it cover everything like the original one did. and how much does it cost.

Porsche Warranty info
In US, new car warranty is 4 yrs, and starts from date of delivery to customer.
I think that Extended Warranties can vary from dealer to dealer - I'm not familiar with what is offered specifically by Porsche. I have an extended warranty from Carmax (I bought mine used) - I don't recall exactly how much it is (around $1000 IIRC), but it is pretty comprehensive and goes up to 75K miles and 72 months.
You pretty much have to do your own cost-benefit analysis to decide whether an extended warranty is worthwhile for you - if you plan on putting on a lot of miles, or keeping the car for a long time, then it might be worthwhile. Given my driving habits, and the cost of servicing a Porsche, I thought it was worthwhile. YMMV.
