Last week I had to drop off something at an office near where I work. I drove my Cayman and parked in a small parking lot away from other cars. When I returned to my car I noticed the lot was full and another car had parked next to mine. I walked over to my car hoping it wouldn't have a ding. When I got to where I could see down the length of the car I saw something that made me freeze in my tracks. A large red rooster was standing next to the front driver's side tire. He was staring intently at the wheel. I just stood there for a moment watching the rooster stare at the wheel. He paid no attention to me. I then slowly moved toward the car. When I got to my door the rooster turned and looked at me. I carefully opened the door and slipped into the drivers seat without upsetting the bird. I started the car, backed out of the space and noticed the rooster was still watching me as I drove away. The only explaination I haveis that the rooster was attracted to the bright red brake calipers. But where did the rooster come from in the first place? I've heard of chick magnets, but this is ridiculous.
I only had one beer the night before. But I did blink my eyes and shake my head to make sure it was real. Maybe it was a sign. Any one have an idea as to what it could mean?

Scubadiver,
I started a thread 'Aligator Tales' awhile back. This post should definately be part of that!! Maybe it should be a separate category...
Remind me of the old blues song 'Little Red Rooster' ... got the barnyard stirred up in every way

Cayman S - a portable amusement park
fmarshall, Great story about how things fell into place in getting your car. It is a portable amusement park, at least the roller coaster part of the park.
I came out of the house and had a big jay bird on the spoiler. Must be something about the Cayman and birds. There is enough wax on it now that if I leave the door open hopefully he will fall off (he goes to the dog food container, forces it open just enough to steal a piece and flys away so the door to the garage is almost always closed).
So far, I have only noticed that insects, the living kind, seem to like the Speed Yellow paint on my Cayman. My suspicion has been that for some insectsTHIS is the color that makes their day. So it could be that it was the red brake calipers that intrigued the Rooster.
Remember drinking and driving is not recommended. Let alone taking LSD and driving.
LSD - Limited Slip Differential
A limited slip differential (LSD) is a modified or derived type of differential gear arrangement that allows for some difference in rotational velocity of the output shafts, but does not allow the difference in speed to increase beyond a preset amount. In an automobile, such limited slip differentials are sometimes used in place of a standard differential, where they convey certain dynamic advantages, at the expense of greater complexity.
The main advantage of a limited slip differential is found by considering the case of a standard (or "open") differential where one wheel has no contact with the ground at all. In such a case, the contacting wheel will remain stationary, and the non-contacting wheel will rotate freely– the torque transmitted will be equal at both wheels, but will not exceed the threshold of torque needed to move the vehicle, thus the vehicle will remain stationary. In everyday use on typical roads, such a situation is very unlikely, and so a normal differential suffices. For more demanding use however, such as driving off-road, or for high performance vehicles, such a state of affairs is undesirable, and the LSD can be employed to deal with it. By limiting the velocity difference between a pair of driven wheels, useful torque can be transmitted as long as there is some friction available on at least one of the wheels.
