Sellers should provide all service records and the service booklet to the buyer, along with all the other owner's booklets that came with the car. With that mileage, there may not have been any services done on the car.

At that mileage, nothing should need to be serviced. Some people change their oil before that mileage if they are not comfortable going longer. But, if the PO was like me and did their own oil change, there might not be any record to be had. If the dealer can't provide service records, I would not be too concerned.

If the car is being sold by the dealer, you may want to request a DME(?) report. Basically this is a readout of any over-revs the engine may have had in it's lifetime.

Anything over the software rev-limit may indicated a mechanical over-rev and reason to be a bit more cautious about the health of the engine.

Gary,

Also, hit the FAQ link at the top of the page. It has stuff about both maintenance and warranty.

Enjoy!

Also, on the left hand column of the home page, you'll see a "Favorite Files" link with both a 2006 and 2007 Owner's Manual listed....

Pete's is a good suggestion - a DME readout, and a fault code history readout would be good things to know... the service intervals for these cars is 20k miles - changed to 12k in 2008, so even on the shorter schedule, it's early for any scheduled maintenance... a dealer can also run the VIN to see if any warranty work has been done to the car so far... minor service (20k vs 40k) will run between $300-500 more or less, depending on your location and how much the dealer's shop rate is... which depends on location most of the time. So, if things are correct for the car, there should be no service records, as such...

good luck,

brad
