Hello U.S. of A owners.
I recently bought a Cayman - not the 'S' because it costs over $800 to tax each year and our gas is $10 per gallon !

It has done 10,000 miles should I change the Mobil 1 and the filter or do I leave it until 2 years as the manual says...?

I like the car (previously had a Ferrari 328 GTS ) and use it most days - unlike the fine weather Ferrari.

Our Surrey country lanes make it feel as if it has no suspension - could quite easily loose teeth fillings. Wish I had the adjustable suspension - perhaps a tyre change from the Michelin Pilots would help ?

Worst thing about it is the key. If you go near the car with it in your pocket you open front and rear boots without trying !

Best wishes, Tony Schlaeppi.

Tony you need: http://www.caymanclub.net/cayman-ven...ly-2008-a.html
Works brilliantly, doesn’t take long to fit, solves all the silly problems and gives you a few more useful functions. I’ve run mine for 2 years and wouldn’t be without it.

Tony,

Welcome....... You might Like to visit the UK Section of the site.

Go to the top of this page on the Blue Tool bar Click Forum - Scroll down until you find the UK Section.

Where in Surrey are You? I am in Camberley and love the country roads..... I have a Lowered Stiffened Cayman with 18" Track Wheels and 19" Road Wheels - No problems on any roads at all (Except for slower drivers!).

As for the key - There is a fix - but you need to buy and install a Hardware kit from Design911 Porsche parts, accessories, performance exhaust and wheels. World-wide Porsche parts delivery service. around £210 Remote Key for Cayman 987 by Mods 4 Cars.

Maybe See You Around?

As far as the oil, That’s up to you as Mobil One is reputed to be good for a lot longer in time and miles than what's stated....and certainly what it's done, but if you don't know where the car been for a time, and it would make you feel better...change it...2 x 4L =8L from Costco at about £44 and a filter from the dealer £12.63...don't forget to get the sump plug washer 3p !!!

Welcome Tony!

If you decide not to go the Mods4Cars route, you can also have your key fob reprogrammed by your local service department with a longer time delay on the buttons - it helps.
