How many cars don't have them? Also consider that the Cayman (at least w/ HID's) has very good headlights, and I'd consider foglights nice to have but by no means necessary.

I quite like the look, the curves of the car extend all the way down to the fog lights. That said, I think the Techart front bumper with a pair of foglights right and left looks really good!
Where I live it's mandatory to have fog lights... (by law)
I always thought the rear fog light was a joke until Rock N Croc III when the Cayman caravan went through the NC mountains in thick fog and the only thing I could see in front of me was a fellow CC members left rear fog light.
No joke....I was VERY HAPPY to be able to see that little thing! Afterwards I got out and told the driver......"I am a believer!"
So if anyone ever doubts the usefulness of that thing......you tell em that you dont need it 99% of the time...but that ONE day that you need it it makes the whole concept worth it!

I learned about rear fog lights while driving on the German autobahns for four years.
The "look" of the Cayman's front foglights is a toss up for me but I am definitely glad to have them.

The foglights are very necessary for Porsche, because when a rock hits one and it cracks the lens, the whole assembly must be replaced for lots of $$. Ask me how I know
I'm not complaining though. I like the look, especially when they're on!
And you can have the dealer re-program the car so that both the foglights AND highbeams are lit at the same time. You'll be the king of the Import Crews!

Agree that the foglights aid in being seen rather than seeing. However, the rear fog lamp did get me pulled over one evening for a "malfunctioning rear lamp". The police office interpreted my right rear light as non operational. Once the function was demonstrated he dismissed the "infraction". I'll assume only one rear light is lit to avoid confusion with brake lights. In summary, they are an aid, but wish there were two of them.
For those of you that drive in nasty bumper to bumper city traffic, I've found that the rear fog is also very handy keeping tailgaters at bay!

There is a reason for only one fog light. At one time I knew what the reason was but now I can't remember. I think that the rear foglight has to be on the driver's side of the vehicle - which would also be the side that you are supposed to pass on. (European traffic laws are very particular about passing on the correct side.) (So the foglight would be on the left in England/Ireland/Scotland.)
