Cayman voted best sports coupe

FWIW, I was surfing through ESPN and saw this.

ESPN MyCars has published its top sports coupes under $50K and cayman came in #1

Expert Picks: Coupes and Sports Cars Rated from 4.0 to 5.0 Stars

" We didn't intentionally save the best for last – blame the alphabet for that one – but there's no question that with the exception of the Chevrolet Corvette, the Porsche Cayman is the most satisfying car on this list to drive. Even in the non-S base model, the Porsche Cayman impresses with its poise, handling, styling and the way it adheres to the Porsche philosophy. Just don't go crazy with the options, as they add up quickly."

Other cars include the vette, exige, 350z, G37 among others

us 2.7 drivers know how entertaining our model is... nice to see folks from outside the Porsche family come to understand this!

A more careful reading of the acticle reveals that the cayman came in number 2 with the corvette rated number 1. Personally, I would rather drive the cayman but the author of the article disagrees. Actually my rating would be the cayman and my 1995 saturn sc-2 sports coupe tied for the top spot.

Over 1 year on the hunt (my timetable was June 2008 no matter what) and 5 months before I pulled the trigger I test drove a 2008 Corvette Coupe. Loved the heads up display and hated everything else. Claustrophobic and didn't make me smile. The Cayman sang to me and made me smile on every test drive (total of 3 different cars). I'm cheap, could have saved $20k easy but I knew the Vette was not for me. Can't explain it any better but I'm not going to drop $20k more for no reason......Rod

Corvette is a great car, but they are a dime a dozen. I think the CS offers more style and handling. IMHO

Talking I have both.

The Corvette is a belligerent monstrosity, with archaic suspension and so much throttle steer that I've actually found mine facing in the opposite direction at a gas station after going in to pay for my Budweiser. It's a crude, brutal animal, appealing in its own way: There's something very satisfying about using a savage battle-axe of a car to blow the doors off nearly every other vehicle on the highway. It's also immensely rewarding to successfully negotiate a road course in one WITHOUT spinning into the weeds.
