Drove a couple hours to Sonnen Porsche in Marin County (a few miles north of the Golden Gate bridge) to view and test drive a few Caymans.
The first and most important thing is that no matter what trim/options you choose they are just simply awesome. Whatever rocks your boat - you can get in a Cayman. I test drove a CS, a regular C and a C with the Chrono (sp?) option. They were all very nice. If were to track one the CS would be my choice. I loved the regular C with the Chrono, I believe it was the sports option seat, it was very uncomfortable for daily driving. Drove the CS next, off the ramp and in town, I realized rather quickly it was not my cup of tea - very short test drive for me. I personally felt it was way too much work, the increase in torque and hp (btw it was just incredible machine) made it very difficult to modulate the throtle, it feels like an on/ off switch instead. Nothing wrong with the car, on the contrary, performance wise is better car, although it felt a little heavier than the C.
The last car was a Cayman with power seats (much more comfortable) , very nice midnight blue metallic and tan interior - just the basic. For kicks I drove it like a grandma in town, see if I could drive it on 4th without stalling, very forgiving. Then I took it thru the paces, my salesman was getting white knuckles, even after I assured him I had Infineon and LS schools behind me.
I had a big idiot grin for two hours, getting it home! I am officially in now.
